National Governing Body for Equestrian Sport. USEF High School program

Currently 23 colleges and universities in affiliation with USEF offer Equestrian as a varsity sport recognized and funded by the college in the form of athletic scholarships. These are highly sought after and very competitive scholarships, however, most high school equestrian athletes are not currently recognized by their school athletic programs. The USEF has developed a program to recognize young equestrians’ accomplishments and to support their future involvement in the sport. Currently 23 colleges and universities offer equestrian as a varsity sport and more continue to add the program each year. Check out the site for a list of participating universities, requirements, scholarships, etc.

College Preparatory Invitational (CPI) Horse Show

The mission of the CPI is to prepare and educate student riders in grades 8 – 12 about the format of college equestrian competition, encourage academics and horsemanship, and to provide the riders with resources to create their desired college equestrian experience.  The show is specifically geared to promote college recruitment of equestrians by providing the opportunity for coaches and potential students to meet.
