We are sadly leaving the last Wilsonville show of the 2011 season after two weeks of great competition and fun. As usual Team Northwest put on an enjoyable well organized event. Salt Lake City trainer Erica North joined us once again along with Elizabeth Sherwin and family, Brittyn Neimi and family, Virginia, Margo, and Alli Cederberg.

All the hard work of riders paid and over the two weeks we won lots of ribbons and numerous championships.

Sally was 2nd in the Hunter Classic on Lucky Penny with scores of 85 and 89 for her rounds. In the Jumper ring she won the 1.1M Championship on Ringo and was 3rd on Zadon in the 1.2M Mini Prix (1 of only 3 clear out of 14 competitors).

Erica won the 1.2M Mini Prix on her horse Mirro and was Reserve Champion on Luna in the Baby Greens. Jessie and Bluez had a great show with a strong finish (3rd out 11 in 1M Jumpers). They will be moving to the 1.1M for their next show.

Brittyn was definitely a star. She won the Zone 9 Large Junior Hunter Championship with a score of 88 on Cento, and was Reserve Champion High Children’s Jumpers on Coretto and 3rd in the USET Finals also on Coretto.

Alli and her new horse Caillou were awesome from the start in the hunter ring winning several rounds and finishing 4th in very strong company in the Children’s Hunter Championships with a score of 81.

Elizabeth Sherwin and her pony Ginger Snap performed really well at their very first show winning several blues and a Championship in the Beginner Rider division.

Virginia and Papa were crowd favorites as usual winning the Reserve Champion Long Stirrup division.

Margo debuted on her new horse Taco by winning a round in the Modified Adult.

We all enjoyed very fresh, off the vine raspberries and everyone at show enjoyed bountiful care packages full of home made and Great Harvest goodies supplied by Dru Cederberg. Parkwood would like to thank the Team Northwest for a great show season. We look forward to more top shows next year.

Parkwood had a very successful two weeks at the beautiful facility of Hunters Creek in Wilsonville, Oregon. This facility and the shows put on there are definitely our favorites. Our riders had a wonderful time and won numerous championships and reserve championships.

Emily Gordon of Park City, UT won Championships in Children’s Hunter and Equitation 13 & Under both weeks. Morgan Mechilotti won Large Junior Hunter Championship on Akrobat and Madison Mansfield won the Modified Jr/Am Championship on Pikasso.

Alli Cederberg won the Modified Children’s Hunter Championship on Magic Man (aka Pal) and had some very nice hunter rounds on Bow Tie, a young green hunter that she is bringing along nicely. Ruby Jenkins and First Lady (Brinka) had beautiful rounds in Jumpers and Equitation placing 2nd in the USET Medal and in the WHS Equitation Classic.

Sally won two Reserve Championships, the first on Magic Man in the 3’ PreGreen and the second on Pikasso in the 3’3” PreGreen. Margo won Reserve Champion AA on Singapore and also won both the Ariat and had Hillcrest Medals on Ringo (Bally).

Elizabeth Krell won Reserve Champion Children’s Hunter with Bokeloh and Cassidy and Blazer won reserve champion Pony Jumper. Campbell Felton and Rosie won the Junior Maiden Equitation

Hanna Allen and Lucky Penny (Peeps) got high ribbons in Equitation and Hunters with Peeps receiving the highest hunter score (an 87) in the barn. Britton was 4th in both the Pessoa and ASPCA 3’6” Medal classes while Greta and Lincoln had nice rounds and several ribbons in the Children’s Jumpers rounds. Lauren and Clavelino were very successful in the highly competitive 3’6”classes in Hunter, Jumper, and Equitation rings winning ribbons in all three rings including the Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic; she was consistently in the top four.

Joy Ludy of Wasilla, Alaska won Reserve Champion Modified Adult on Dolche while Anne and Sandra both had successful first shows with Wilbur and Oliver and are ready to move up in divisions. (Jessie also put in some awesome hunter rounds with Oliver for Sandra the first week). Marcia and Patrick had great rounds in the Modified Adult Hunters and are looking forward to moving to the AA division.

Theresa Mansfield is the proud new owner of Kahara, a lovely jumper mare. Look for Theresa and Kahara in the 3’6” AA jumpers.

Parkwood staff and clients would like to thank Amanda Stephenson an intern at Parkwood from University of Montana Western for her help at the show. As always Parkwood would like to thank all the parents and grandparents for their continuing support.

Check back later for photos.

We are on our way home from a fun and WARM two weeks at HITS Thermal, CA, one of the biggest horse shows in the country (over 1800 horses for week 5). As usual we had a great time while everyone learned a lot and improved their riding skills. It is rare that anyone gets a chance to see so many high quality horses and riders in one place so we are doubly proud of the championships, reserve championships, and all-around solid showing by all of the Parkwood riders.

Madison Mansfield was a star winning the division championship in Children’s Hunters BOTH weeks on Pikasso. Elizabeth and Bokeloh won the division championship Junior Novice Equitation and Marcia and Patrick won Champion Pre-Adult. Morgan won Reserve Champion in Children’s Hunter on her new horse Apple (show name: Acrobat) in their first time out together. She also had several excellent rounds on Lancelot.

Hannah Allen had her first showing with First Impression (Peeps) in the Equitation and Medals divisions, among the toughest divisions at any show and came through with flying colors. Alli Cederberg competed in both the hunter and jumper rings putting in solid rounds in both rings. Brittyn Neimi and Coretto had lovely rounds in their divisions, consistently placing in the top 8 in classes of up to 70 competitors. Margo and Rocco put in consistently nice rounds in their last outing together and we all said a fond farewell to Rocco, a definite favorite in the barn, as he left for his new home at Rubicon Farms in Menlo Park, CA, yesterday. Ruby moved up to the 3’6” Medals where she and Dolce’ put in very nice rounds.

As usual Sari and Justin were super stars in the pony divisions and Sari spent lots of time concentrating on the rounds in the large pony division so she and Tango will be top competitors in that very tough division.

Theresa and Hershey found really forward in the big thermal rings scoring several double clear rounds. Virginia and Papa loved their time together in the sun winning several ribbons in her division.

A special thanks to Joan Curtin, Jim Dahlquist, Diane Yeager and Benson Carol for their exceptional help with our large number of horses. We would also like to thank Ruby and Jessie for their help at the show in keeping us all organized and riding well at the same time. We all had a great time and look forward to a fun and competitive show season.
